CLUB TRAINING SESSIONS

SEASON 09/10

Portsmouth City Basketball Club now provides a whole range of basketball from juniors through local leagues right up to the men’s national league team.

SENIOR TEAMS

Portsmouth City Basketball Club run a number of teams in the national and local leagues.

PORTSMOUTH CITY SMUGGLERS - NATIONAL LEAGUE

The Smugglers currently play in Div 3 South of the England National League structure. The teams plays matches from September through to April with home games taking place at the Mountbatten Centre. Training for this team is by invitation only. For a trial please contact Mick Byrne on 07885820829.

Wednesdays 8-10pm @ Portsmouth Grammar School

Open Training - Mondays 8-10pm @ Southdowns College

PORTSMOUTH CITY SMUGGLERS - LOCAL LEAGUE

The Smugglers are current Solent Area Basketball Association Div 1 Champions. Home matches take place on Wednesday evenings at Portsmouth Grammar School. Training for local league players is on Mondays at Southdowns College - 8-10pm

PORTSMOUTH FURY - LOCAL LEAGUE

Portsmouth Fury will play in Div 1 of SABA League and are now a self organised team outside of Portsmouth City Basketball Club. Please check out www.portsmouthfury.co.uk for details.

PORTSMOUTH LADY SMUGGLERS - LOCAL LEAGUE

Portsmouth Lady Smugglers are the Club's senior team for female players. The team are entered into the SABA Leagues and play matches throughout the area.

THE EMBERS

Veterans team play friendly matches and train at Portsmouth Grammar School on a Wednesday evening - 7-8pm

ADULT RECREATIONAL SESSION

For anyone who just wants to come down and play for an hour.

This session is currently suspended as we locate a new venue.

JUNIOR TEAMS

Details of Teams and Coaching Sessions for the 2009/10 season will appear here shortly. All training will start in September.

NEW - U10 Basketball & Multi Skill Session will start from September.

All players are expected to complete a club registration form and also pay the club annual junior membership fee. This fee is set at £10 for all junior members and is valid from Sept 09 to July 10 which includes England Basketball registration. New players are welcome and may train as a ‘guest’ for a two week period. Following this trial period players are expected to become full club members. Training fees for every junior session are £2 per player per session - payable at the session. Match and Tournament fees vary for each competition and range from £2-5.

U10 & U12 start Friday 4 September

U14 start at Portsmouth College on Wednesday 23 September

U16/18's start at Portsmouth College on Monday 21 September

Age Groups are as follows:

U10 - School Years 3-5

U12 – School Years 6&7

U14 – School Years 8&9

U16 – School Years 10&11

U18 – School Years 12&13

U12’s Mixed – Fridays – 5-7pm – Priory School (Sportshall)

U14 Boys – Wednesdays - 6-8pm - Portsmouth College
